The Environmental science is a latest and futuristic course introduced at Surana College, affiliated to Bangalore University. In view of its immense popularity, a three-year futuristic course, B.Sc. (Chemistry, Botany and Environmental Science) is started from the academic year 2017-18. This program covers major aspects of Environment including Water, Air, Soil and Noise pollution; their control technology; effects of pollution on ecosystem, biodiversity and its conservation & management of Environment etc.

The program is designed to create awareness, educate and provide in depth knowledge pertaining to environment and its conservation and a step towards solutions towards Environmental problems. The department provides training and imparting skills in the various areas pertaining to the Environmental Science. The department is making an impressive progress in building up the infrastructure and in conducting teaching and research programs with best job opportunity.

The department aims at providing consultancy services to the NGOs, Industries and educational institutions in the field of environment and mitigation of pollution, conservation of nature & natural resources and waste management.
