Cultural Committee

Objective:

Organize cultural events and encourage students to participate in intra, inter-collegiate, university, state, and national-level competitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute cultural programs, festivals, and events throughout the academic year.
  • Encourage and facilitate student participation in cultural activities, including music, dance, drama, and visual arts.
  • Collaborate with other institutions for cultural exchange programs.
  • Promote traditional and contemporary cultural expressions and diversity.
  • Maintain a calendar of cultural events and ensure it aligns with the academic schedule.

Things to Consider:

  • Ensure cultural activities do not clash with academic responsibilities and Bangalore University exam schedules.
  • Allocate sufficient resources and budget for organizing events.
  • Coordinate with Magazine and Social Media optimization committees.

Protocol to be Followed:

  1. The Convenor must use the committee seal on all circulars and documents issued by the committee.
  2. Announce events and activities well in advance through circulars to maximize participation and preparation.
  3. Maintain detailed records of all events, including participant details, outcomes, and feedback.
  4. Submit a statistical report on committee activities and achievements to the Principal at the end of each semester.
  5. Coordinate with the Timetable Committee to minimize disruption to regular academic activities during cultural events.
  6. Regularly update the cultural committee notice board and online platforms with information on upcoming events.
  7. Hold regular meetings with faculty and student members to plan and review activities.
  8. Encourage collaboration with external cultural organizations and artists for workshops and performances.
  9. Monitor and evaluate the impact of cultural events on student engagement and cultural awareness.
  10. Foster an inclusive environment that celebrates and respects cultural diversity among students.
  11. Submit the meeting books on the 5th of every month.
  12. Maintain files for all activities mentioned in 2, 3, 4, 6, Meeting Books, and Budget Proposed File.
  13. Submit a report after each activity/event.
