BACHELOR OF Science

Overview:

Physics and Chemistry:

Physics and Chemistry are two fundamental sciences that form the cornerstone of modern science and technology. Combining these two disciplines, the program offers students an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the physical world and its chemical behaviour. In such a program, students will gain insight into the underlying principles that govern matter and energy, as well as interactions between them.

Through a combination of theoretical concepts and practical experiments, students will be able to apply these principles to real-world problems, ranging from the study of subatomic particles to the synthesis of new materials with novel properties. This interdisciplinary approach to learning not only enhances a student’s analytical and problem-solving skills but also open a range of career opportunities in academia, research, and industry.

With the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), the undergraduate bachelor’s degree program offers provisions for multiple exit options for students.

Botany and Environmental Science:

Botany and Environmental Science are two interconnected fields of study that explore the intricacies of the natural world. Botany, also known as plant biology, is the scientific study of plants, including their physiology, growth, reproduction, and evolution. Environmental Science, on the other hand, is the study of the physical, chemical, and biological components of the environment and their interactions. The two disciplines share a common goal of understanding the natural world and how it works. They also provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of human activity on plant life and the environment, and how to preserve and protect our natural resources.

This program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both subjects, preparing them for careers in research, conservation, education, and more. Students will delve into the complexities of plant life and explore the interplay between living organisms and the environment, gaining an appreciation for the natural world and the important role it plays in our lives.

Environmental Science and Chemistry:

Apart from the knowledge and skills which would be developed from the study of its own disciplines, the combination of Environmental Science and Chemistry is a powerful interdisciplinary approach that enables students to explore the intricate relationship between the environment and the interaction of chemicals present within it.

This combination course aims to equip students with a thorough understanding of the chemical processes that occur in the environment and how they impact ecological systems. By merging these two disciplines, students can develop the knowledge and skills required to address the most pressing environmental issues that face our world today, such as climate change, pollution, and sustainability. This course provides a unique opportunity to explore the fundamental principles of Chemistry and Environmental Science simultaneously, allowing students to acquire a comprehensive understanding of how they interact and influence each other.
