Bridge Course Committee

Objective:

To facilitate the smooth transition and academic integration of new students through structured bridge courses at Surana College.

Responsibilities:

  • Train faculty to design bridge courses with clear learning outcomes and curricula tailored to the needs of incoming students.
  • Ensure respective departments provide academic counseling and mentoring to students regarding course structure, expectations, and academic support services.
  • Develop assessment tools and mechanisms to evaluate student progress and learning outcomes.
  • Collect feedback from students and faculty to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and necessary curriculum adjustments.
  • Coordinate with the Timetable Committee to schedule the bridge courses week within the academic calendar.
  • Communicate effectively with department heads and faculty to optimize course timetables.

Protocols to Follow:

  • Coordinate with the Inauguration and Orientation Committee and ensure bridge courses align with academic requirements.
  • Plan bridge courses from the first day of college reopening with structured schedules.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of bridge course activities, including attendance, assessments, and student performance.
  • Establish a feedback mechanism for students to provide input on their experiences and teaching effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports on bridge course outcomes, student achievements, and recommendations for future enhancements.
  • Submit reports to the Principal within 5 working days from the completion of the bridge course.
