Objective
To empower students with leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills by providing a platform for active participation in institutional governance, student welfare, and extracurricular activities at Surana College.
Responsibilities
Student Representation and Governance:
- Act as a bridge between students and the administration, ensuring transparent communication.
- Represent student concerns, suggestions, and feedback to the management.
- Assist in formulating student-related policies and initiatives.
Leadership Development and Training:
- Organize leadership workshops, mentorship programs, and skill-building sessions.
- Encourage students to take up responsible roles in academic and extracurricular activities.
- Conduct team-building exercises to enhance collaboration among council members.
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Plan and execute college events, including cultural, academic, and sports activities.
- Work in coordination with various clubs, committees, and faculty members.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of events and initiatives.
Student Welfare and Support Services:
- Address student grievances and provide a structured mechanism for resolution.
- Support students through peer mentoring and counseling initiatives.
- Organize awareness programs on mental health, safety, and inclusivity.
Community Engagement and Social Responsibility:
- Initiate social outreach programs, environmental campaigns, and community service projects.
- Collaborate with NGOs and social organizations for volunteering opportunities.
- Promote sustainability and ethical leadership among students.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with industry associations, financial organizations, and educational bodies.
- Engage faculty members and professionals to mentor students.
- Establish partnerships with external organizations for sponsorships and funding support.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Engage with faculty, administration, and alumni for holistic student development.
- Foster partnerships with industry experts and motivational speakers for leadership talks.
- Encourage networking opportunities with student councils from other institutions.
Public Relations and Communication:
- Maintain active communication through newsletters, social media, and digital platforms.
- Document council meetings, activities, and decisions for transparency and record-keeping.
- Represent the college in intercollegiate events, forums, and competitions.
Feedback and Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct surveys and feedback sessions to understand student needs and expectations.
- Analyze student participation and engagement in council activities.
- Develop strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of leadership initiatives.
