SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth)
Objective
To promote and preserve Indian classical music, dance, and cultural heritage among students and faculty at Surana College by organizing awareness programs, workshops, and performances under the SPIC MACAY initiative.
Responsibilities
Cultural Awareness and Promotion:
- Organize classical music and dance concerts, lectures, and interactive sessions with renowned artists.
- Conduct heritage walks, film screenings, and discussions on Indian cultural traditions.
- Encourage student participation in cultural immersion programs and workshops.
Artist and Event Coordination:
- Identify and invite classical musicians, dancers, and cultural scholars for events.
- Ensure smooth logistical arrangements, including venue setup, hospitality, and technical support.
- Facilitate interactions between students and artists to enhance learning experiences.
Workshops and Educational Programs:
- Organize workshops on classical music, dance forms, and traditional art forms.
- Conduct yoga and meditation camps as part of holistic cultural education.
- Integrate cultural education into academic activities through elective courses and special lectures.
Student and Faculty Engagement:
- Form student cultural clubs to actively participate in SPIC MACAY activities.
- Train faculty and student coordinators to facilitate cultural events.
- Encourage volunteering for organizing and managing SPIC MACAY programs.
Collaboration and Networking:
- Partner with local and national SPIC MACAY chapters for collaborative events.
- Establish connections with cultural organizations, universities, and government agencies.
- Seek sponsorships and funding for large-scale cultural events.
Publicity and Outreach:
- Promote SPIC MACAY events through digital platforms, posters, and college bulletins.
- Document and archive performances, lectures, and cultural activities.
- Encourage media coverage to spread awareness about Indian classical heritage.
Feedback and Impact Assessment:
- Collect feedback from students, faculty, and artists to assess the effectiveness of programs.
- Analyze participation and engagement levels to improve future initiatives.
- Prepare reports on cultural activities and submit them to institutional and external bodies.
