Library Committee
Objective:
Enhance library resources and services to support academic and research needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
- Plan and propose necessary budget for library resources and activities.
- Evaluate and recommend new books, journals, and digital resources.
- Organize library orientation programs and workshops for students and faculty.
- Monitor library usage and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with faculty to support curriculum and research needs.
Things to Consider:
- Ensure library resources are up-to-date and relevant to academic programs.
- Promote the use of digital resources and e-learning platforms.
- Coordinate with Magazine and Social Media optimization committees.
Protocols to be Followed:
- The Convenor must use the committee seal on all circulars and documents issued by the committee.
- Announce library-related events and updates well in advance through circulars.
- Maintain detailed records of library acquisitions, usage statistics, and feedback.
- Submit a statistical report on committee activities and achievements to the Principal at the end of each semester.
- Coordinate with the Timetable Committee to organize library orientation programs and Library hours without disrupting regular academic activities.
- Ensure timely communication with students and faculty regarding new resources and library services.
- Hold regular meetings with library staff and faculty members to plan and review activities.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of library resources on academic and research outcomes.
- Foster a culture of reading and research among students and faculty.
- Submit the meeting books on the 5th of every month.
- Maintain files for all activities mentioned in 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, Meeting Books, and Budget Proposed File.
- Submit a report after each activity/event.
