Green Initiative Committee / Eco Club
Objective:
Promote environmental awareness and sustainability practices within the campus and the community.
Responsibilities:
- Organize eco-friendly initiatives, such as tree planting, waste management drives, and energy conservation projects.
- Plan and propose necessary budget for conduct of Green initiative activities.
- Conduct workshops and seminars on environmental issues and sustainability practices.
- Collaborate with local environmental organizations and NGOs for joint activities and campaigns.
- Monitor and enhance campus environmental practices, such as recycling programs and reducing single-use plastics.
- Encourage student participation in green activities.
Things to Consider:
- Integrate environmental education into the curriculum through guest lectures and project-based learning.
- Promote a culture of sustainability among students, faculty, and staff.
- Explore opportunities for campus infrastructure improvements to support sustainability (e.g., solar panels, rainwater harvesting).
- Plan for a minimum of two activities per semester.
Protocol to be Followed:
- The Convenor must use the committee seal on all circulars and documents issued by the committee.
- Coordinate with the Timetable Committee and other committees. Plan and announce events and activities well in advance through circulars to ensure maximum participation.
- Maintain a record of all activities, including participant details, student participant lists, outcomes, and feedback.
- Submit a Statistical report on committee activities and achievements to the Principal at the end of each semester and file it.
- Monitor and report on the progress of ongoing projects, such as waste reduction programs and energy-saving measures. File all the research reports and progress.
- Meeting books must be submitted to the Principal on the 5th of every month.
- Maintain a Budget Proposed File, Events Conducted File, Ongoing Projects and Research File, and Meeting Books.
- Submit a report after each activity/event.
