Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell / Anti-Human Trafficking Club

Objective:

Prevent and address issues of sexual harassment and human trafficking, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct awareness programs and workshops on sexual harassment, consent, and human trafficking, minimum one event per semester.
  • Handle complaints of sexual harassment confidentially and promptly.
  • Provide support and resources to affected individuals, including counseling and legal assistance if necessary.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, NGOs, and other relevant organizations to conduct awareness programs.
  • Display contact numbers and email addresses on all notice boards for anyone wishing to file a complaint.

Things to Consider:

  • Ensure activities align with the academic calendar and the Bangalore University exam schedule.
  • Promote a culture of respect, safety, and dignity within the campus.
  • Stay updated with relevant laws and regulations related to sexual harassment and human trafficking.
  • Ensure accessibility and visibility of the cell/club’s contact information and resources.

Protocol to be Followed:

  1. The Convenor must use the committee seal on all circulars and documents issued by the committee.
  2. Maintain strict confidentiality in handling complaints and related records.
  3. Announce awareness programs and workshops well in advance through circulars to ensure maximum participation.
  4. Regularly update the notice board and online platforms with information on relevant policies, support services, and upcoming events.
  5. Conduct training sessions for faculty and staff on handling complaints and supporting affected individuals.
  6. Establish a clear and accessible process for filing and addressing complaints.
  7. Submit statistical reports on the cell/club’s activities, complaints handled, and outcomes to the Principal at the end of each semester.
  8. Foster partnerships with external organizations for resources, expertise, and support in addressing sexual harassment and human trafficking issues.
  9. Ensure periodic review and update of policies and procedures related to sexual harassment and human trafficking.
  10. Submit the meeting books on the 5th of every month.
  11. Maintain files for all activities mentioned in 1, 4, 6, Meeting Books, and Research Files for reference purposes.
  12. Submit a report after each activity/event.
